Theranos CEO Elizabeth Holmes begins 11-year sentence.

Elizabeth Holmes has been in the process of appealing her conviction after being convicted last year of fraud related charges that involve her stewardship of theranos, a failed technology company.

Two weeks ago, a court rejected her request to remain free on bail while her appeal to the original conviction was considered. It is widely expected among legal services that her conviction appeal will be successful.

Nonetheless, she will remain in custody in a prison in Texas.

Holmes was once lauded as the world’s youngest self-made billionaire. If her appeal is successful as expected, she may make a hell of a comeback. But in the meantime, she has all the time in the world to think about her next steps.
