Famous author and multiple winner of World Series of Poker , Doyle Brunson has died at the age of 89.
Brunsons family left a message on twitter stating “It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of our father, Doyle Brunson,”.
The cause of death was it not currently known..
Brunson, the “Godfather of Poker,” was a member of the Poker Hall of Fame, inducted in 1988 when he was age 54. He had more than $6 million in live tournament earnings.
Brunson won the World Series of Poker main event in 1977 and 1978. He blamed his subsequent failure on the book he wrote called supersystem, which was one of the first books about how to win at poker. His opponents from that point on had read his books, thus reducing the power of his technique.
