Elon Musk’s electric car company Tesla says it is expanding in China as it builds a new factory to make its large-scale batteries.
Tesla announced over easter that they will be building a plaint in Shanghai China to The plant in Shanghai will be able to produce over ten thousand Megapack units a year, the firm says.
Megapacks are large batteries help stabilise energy grids and can be used to prevent power blackouts.
Tesla has an existing Megapack plant in California, which also makes ten thousand of the units each year.
Mr Musk, founder of Tesla, said on Twitter that the new Chinese plant will be built in addition to Tesla’s US factory.
