AI legend Geoffrey Hinton Quits Google

There are some different ways that people can quit their jobs.

Some will text, others will phone, or perhaps Yell.

Geoffrey Hinton, aged 75 resigned from Google by press release in the New York Times.

It was later reported by the BBC that the dangers of AI were “quite scary”.

“Right now, they’re not more intelligent than us, as far as I can tell. But I think they soon may be.”

A British-Canadian cognitive psychologist before becoming a computer scientist, Hilton’sresearch was directly responsible for the incredible recent advances in AI.

In the New York Times press release, Dr Hinton referred to those who would use AI for “bad things”.

“This is just a kind of worst-case scenario, kind of a nightmare scenario.
