Nintendo’s Switch 2 has been an unexpected hit. Launching with a fairly limited selection of opening games including many which had already been released on other platforms, the launch was saved by the rather excellent game Super Mario Kart World which was an exclusive for the Switch 2.
Surprisingly, over 3.5 million switch 2 units were sold worldwide in the opening weekend, making it the most successful console launch int he history of the Nintendo Corporation. This has led to the stock increasing 50% year to date!
