We have commented previously on the saga involving the Satoshi identity case that took place at the High Court in London before His Honour Justice Mellor. The case was a hearing on an issue that related to litigation brought by COPA, an alliance of crypto related businesses, against Craig Steven Wright claiming that he was not the author of the white paper, and litigation brought against bitcoin developers by Craig Steven Wright.
It was deemed that in both sets of cases a common issue arose as to the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto, the nom de plume chosen by the author of the bitcoin white paper. Prior to the trial taking place on this issue, Craig Steven Wright was at the very least somewhat disadvantaged by a few developments that included significant corporate sabotage by close associate which required a late change of lawyers and locked in the use of incompetent expert witnesses.
We have discussed previously the myriad grounds of appeal open to Craig Steven Wright not least by the refusal of the presiding judge to set a realistic time frame for engaging new lawyers after it became clear that Craig Steven Wright was the victim of a serious corporate sabotage , and the subsequent inability for him to engage an expert capable of mounting a defence to allegations relating to large volumes of documents.
Although it appeared obvious that Craig Steven Wright would appeal the decision, there has been much speculation online as to whether or not the appeal would actually be filed. It has been noted by his many opponents that the time for filing an appeal expired as of 6 August 2024. It is now 15 August 2024 and there is no confirmation by courts that an appeal has been commenced. Nonetheless, at the last possible stage, Craig Steven Wright has published a confirmation he has filed the appeal on twitter using a new nom de plume S Tominaga.

We wish him well in his upcoming appeal.
