Speculation is rife as to why posting on 4chan has disappeared for 3 hours on 14 August 2024. There are unconfirmed reports that there may be an issue caused by cloudflare, and also some concern that there may have been an update to the posting code to interfere with the many AI bots that test their mettle against the gateway to the internet.
That said, there is also the possibility that 4chan has been subject to a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks where the site’s servers involving posting are overwhelmed, causing it to cease to function properly.
One of course can’t exclude the possibility that posting failed due to a maintenance issue. If you have any other ideas, comment below.
UPDATE:
The posting has gone down repeatedly a few more times today.
