Discord, an online chat service, which allows people to connect to and join groups had announced changes to their interface.
Until now, users had a name preceding a hash and four numbers.
However, the new system will make usernames follow an “@” symbol, similar to the Twitter and Instagram platforms.
Discord has stated the change was made after “hearing from many users about the challenges associated with connecting with friends on our platform” and that the changes are designed to “make Discord more accessible and user-friendly for both new and existing users.”
It remains to be seen how users respond to this change.
