The Chinese technology company Alibaba has announced it will release a ChatGPT-style product called Tongyi Qianwen.
Tongyi Qianwen roughly translates as “seeking an answer by asking a thousand questions.
The company said Tongyi Qianwen will start slow, as an addition to Alibaba’s workplace messaging app called Dingtalk.
It will be task orientated including turning conversations in meetings into written notes and writing emails.
This is not the first major company to invest in AI. Microsoft has spent billions of dollars on the technology, which was added to its search engine Bing in February.
China’s cyberspace regulator has recently proposed measures for managing AI, proposing that companies would have to use legitimate data to train the technology.
